Relationship Manager – Corporate & SME at Housing Finance Bank

To efficiently and effectively attain its strategic objectives, Housing Finance Bank is seeking to hire qualified, versatile and self-driven individuals to fill vacant positions in its establishment as follows; .

Job Title: Relationship Manager – Corporate & SME (1)
Department: Business & Institutional Banking
Reports To: Manager Business Lending
Direct Reports: None Interacts
Interfaces with:
Internal:
• Branch Managers
• Branch Business Managers & Business Bankers
• Business & Institutional Banking team
External
• Customers for respective Business Segments

Job Purpose: Grow the Bank’s Corporate & SME segment business through sales, service and retention of the assigned customer portfolio and ensure portfolio quality in line with the segments targets and the Bank policies.
Key Result Areas
1. Develop a strategy for business growth and optimise business opportunities from existing customers through cross selling of other Housing Finance Bank products and services.
2. Build and manage client relationships in order to grow Housing Finance Bank’s wallet share through customer engagements Initiate credit applications for assessment / review by completing the documentation (including financial analysis) and submit to credit for approval in line with credit policies and procedures.
3. Build and manage stakeholder relationships in the assigned segment with a view of creating visibility of the HFB brand and grow the corporate & SME business
4. Monitor and evaluate performance of the assigned portfolio in line with the Bank’s Credit risk management frame work to ensure timely repayments of instalment, and conduct regular financial analysis to identify early warning signs of default and recommend a plan of action
5. Prepare sales and productivity performance reports as shall be required from time to time
6. Handle customer queries and complaints and resolve them in a timely manner and escalate any unresolved queries in in line with the Customer Service Charter.
Financial Responsibility
• Responsible for delivering set business & financial targets within corporate & SME lending segment.

Person specifications

Education & Training

1. An Honours Degree in Business administration, Commerce, Economics or any other related field from a recognized university.

2. Post-graduate qualifications / Professional Course in relevant discipline would be an added advantage.

Skills & Experience

1. Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in business growth with an established and demonstrable track record in the field of relationship management, preferably in a commercial bank

2. Risk awareness in the banking industry

3. Proven track record of structuring agricultural lending debt transactions

1. The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner is deemed essential.

2. Ability to build functioning working relationships across the department and cultural boundaries.

3. Takes clear accountability, and focuses on delivery of broader departmental goals.
