Job Purpose:
The Manager Diaspora and High Net worth is accountable for growth and retention of a customer base for both High net worth & Diaspora Banking in line with the Bank’s customer value proposition agreed targets, the Bank’s strategy,the Banks policies and procedures as well as regulatory and risk frameworks. She/he will develop Diaspora and High Net worth customer value propositions and offer banking and financial advisory in order to achieve sales performance against targets for the Diaspora and High Net worth segments, examine growth opportunities, enable sales improvements & product mix development.
Key Result Areas
1. Develop, and implement, sales strategy as necessary to maximize Diaspora & High Net worth contribution to personal banking’s B/S and P&L.
2. In coordination with the personal banking & branch performance units, she/he will be responsible for managing the existing product portfolio in areas of product’s risk, sales, training, reporting, incentive, and marketing and for alignment to the bank’s strategy and vision/ mission.
4. Monitor market trends, product positioning, and competition and recommend appropriate actions for HFB’s niche based on market analysis.
5. Provide regular feedback on product requirements for local markets, including product specifications functionality, pricing and translation needs.
6. Maintain relationships with top customers and ensure that services delivered meet client expectations.
7. Assess credit requests in conjunction with the credit department in line with the banks credit standards, policies, procedures and practices and recommend action to the credit department and committee.
8. Perform, promote and maintain the highest standards of customer service in order to maximize returns from existing relationships.
9. Develop and implement business growth strategies as necessary to maximize personal banking profitable sales of all bank products & services. This would include developing direct customer contact and relationships with High net worth account holders.
10. Ensure Implementation of all Credit policies, procedures, regulations and management circulars issued from time to time.
11. Participate in new product marketing and sales.
12. Ensure Sales growth in the various product portfolios by organizing and conducting sales campaigns.
13. Maintain and update information on the company’s products or services while working closely with marketing distribution, and institutional banking sections of the bank.
14. Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the head of department or management.
Financial Responsibility
1. Responsible for the Diaspora and High Net worth sales business & financial targets as will be agreed using different parameters especially on customer numbers, Liabilities, Assets and revenue growth.
2. Responsible for controlling costs to within agreed Diaspora and High Net worth Sales budget.
Person specifications
Education & Training
• A Business degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, management or any relevant field. Possession of a Certified banking qualification or master’s degree in a relevant field would be an added advantage.
Relevant Practical training in business growth in the financial services sector
Skills & Experience
1. Must have critical thinking, analytical attention to detail and problem solving skills.
2. Good communication skills both verbal & written
3. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Banking or similar environment of which 2 must be in a supervisory role.
4. Must have a good understanding about consumer banking product features, pricing, benefits, positioning, design and promotions.
5. Advanced, computer literacy, numerical skills and statistical skills.
6. Interpersonal relationship skills, Assertive, “self-starter” personality that is energetic and a natural net worker;
7. Team player, ability to work under pressure and in position to exercise excellent judgment.
