East Africa Business Manager at Viya Health Enterprises

Viya Health Enterprises, a subsidiary of PSI (Population Services International), is seeking an entrepreneurial and experienced East Africa Business Manager to lead and grow their operations in Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for consolidating operations, revising business plans, driving innovation, and ensuring business and social impact in the sexual health and wellness space.

As the East Africa Business Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
• Business Development and Growth: Identify and execute new products and digital opportunities that deliver business and social impact. Develop multi-year business plans, manage budgets, seek financing and funding support, and ensure top and bottom-line growth in the region.
Stakeholder Engagement: Position Viya Health Enterprises within the East Africa community, build partner relationships, and engage with governments, donors, and key stakeholders. Balance profitability and social impact while contributing to the sexual health and wellness sector.
• Efficient Operations: Develop efficient systems for timely delivery and quality-assured programming. Support the establishment of business operations and manage change management processes as needed.
• People Management: Develop a people management strategy, recruit and support team members, and build a cohesive and high-performing team. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and client-centricity.
Representation and Governance: Represent Viya Health Enterprises to external stakeholders, oversee financial and administrative resources, ensure adherence to standards and procedures, and drive quality operations aligned with strategic goals.

To be considered for this role, you should have the following qualifications and experience:
• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification such as an MBA is desirable.
Digital business development experience, preferably in the health or pharmaceutical industry.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a Profit and Loss management role across multiple countries.
• Proven experience in growing businesses in terms of financial and social impact, particularly in the digital business domain.
• General management experience in demanding and challenging environments, including staff recruitment, training, and supervision.
Track record of designing and executing strategic and annual business plans.
• Board management experience and demonstrated success in fundraising and income generation.
• Strong financial management skills and the ability to improve the bottom-line impact of an organization. Experience in change management, digital health/MIS, and emerging online commerce platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to share best practices and encourage innovation within dispersed teams.
