JOB TITLE: Demographer (01)
JOB REFERENCE: UBOS/STAT/02/2021
REPORTS TO: Senior Statistician
SALARY SCALE: UBOS SP3
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Permanent
Job Summary:
Responsible for the production of regular statistical indicators in the fields of demographic, population and social indicators in line with the Uganda Bureau of Statistics mandate .
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
a. At least an Honors Degree in Bachelor of Demography or Population Studies, OR
b. an Honors Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities with Geography as a core subject and a Post graduate training in Demography
c. Working knowledge of MS Office and Statistical packages
Experience: i. Minimum of 2 years working experience in statistical related work.
ii. Detailed knowledge of statistical data and information sources within the public and private domain
Other Requirements Competence:
1. Analytical and writing skills and data management skills
2. Excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills
3. Working knowledge of computer applications and statistical packages
4. High team building and decision-making skills
5. An appreciation of quality assurance will be of added advantage.
6. Capacity to coordinate, mobilize and develop partnerships
7. High ethics, integrity and practice of professionalism
8. Ability to lead and motivate a professional team in your jurisdiction to focus on results-oriented performance
