Position Summary
Reporting to the University Registrar the incumbent will develop and implement short and medium-term plans for the department, oversee operations of the functional area, review and resolve policy issues, and make decisions in line with established policies and procedures.
The role entails strong strategic management, administrative, and analytical abilities to lead and manage a team in Uganda and drive the achievement of organisational objectives by identifying opportunities for growth and learning while fostering a high-performance culture.
This will require planning and directing; administrative support to academic programmes; records management; data reporting and business process integrity; operations management; developin the academic calendar, budget development and monitoring; current knowledge of and operationalization of relevant University and regulatory body requirements; human resource management and staff capacity development as well as managing university accommodation.
Requirements:
Applicants should have
• A PhD or equivalent (candidates pursuing a PhD may also apply)
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, 3 of which should have been in a leadership role
• Experience working within the East Africa Higher Education System and working within the structures of regulatory and professional accreditation bodies
