Job Summary
The credit officer will be responsible for identifying, screening potential borrowers and training of clients/potential borrowers in Credit Junction credit policies and procedures. He/she will implement Credit Junction Limited‘s procedures during loan application, appraisal, loan disbursement and loan recovery. To ensure good customer service, improved performance and profitability as well as effective risk control and management in line with CJL’s objectives. .
Key duties and responsibilities:
• Survey and sensitize the communities about credit junction loan products.
• Recruit new clients for CJL loan products.
• Participate in the recovery of written off loans in accordance with CJL’s loan recovery guidelines.
• Ensure timely loan repayments
• Ensure that all clients’ loan repayments are accurately posted in the loan tracking system.
• Carry out regular field visits, conduct group meetings and assess potential borrowers
• Ensure accurate and timely filling of all loan documentation.
• Ensure effective monitoring of loans through regular visits to clients and manage delinquency alarm signals by following up on problem clients.
• Ensure that all the loan repayment collections are deposited to CJL’s bank account within 12 hours.
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports on the activities and submit it to the operations manager
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

• The individual should be willing to work in and around Kamwokya, Kyebando, Bukoto, Naguru, Kololo, Nakasero and Mulago.

Key results Area:
• Monthly disbursement of at least 20 new loans
• Maintain at least 200 active clients on a monthly basis
• PAR (above 1 day) of 2% and below
• Client retention rate of 95%.
Key Relationships
Internal: Operations manager, Accountant, Cashier.
External: Regulators, customers, consultants.
Authority Levels
As set down in CJL’s policy and procedures for a position at a credit Officer.
Experience and Knowledge required
• The applicant must hold a Diploma in Accounting and Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Education, Development studies from a recognized institution.
• Degree is an added advantage
• Good knowledge of microfinance with significant experience in personal loan lending and at least 2 years’ experience at a credit officer level.
• Age: Below 30 years.
Experience: Experience of at least 2 years personal loan lending level
