Location: Uganda
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct research on crop production, plant breeding, soil health, and pest management.
• Assist in designing and implementing field trials and experiments.
• Conduct on-site evaluations of crops, soil, and environmental conditions.
• Monitor crop health and growth, identifying and diagnosing any issues related to pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
• Provide recommendations for improving crop yield and quality based on field observations and research findings.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations.
• Provide on-site technical support and advice to farmers to help them adopt new practices.
Conduct soil testing and analysis to determine nutrient levels and recommend appropriate soil amendments.
• Develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in agricultural research and technologies.
Qualification:
• M.Sc. in Agriculture with specialization in Agronomy, Plant Science, Soil Science, Entomology, Plant Pathology, or a related field.
Other Requirements:
• Willingness to travel for fieldwork and site visits.
• Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions.
• Passion for sustainable agriculture and commitment to continuous learning.
