Key Accounts Manager-Agencies at Nation Media Group

Nation Media Group is Uganda’s most influential media house. operating the Daily Monitor, Saturday Monitor, Sunday Monitor and The East African Newspapers, 93.3 KFM and Nation Courier Service. It also operates NTV, the biggest and most popular English-language television station and Spark TV, the first female-focused, and fastest growing television station in Uganda.

We are looking for a qualified, experienced and result oriented professional to fill the following vacancy.

Key Accounts Manager-Agencies Commercial Manager
Department: Advertising

Job Purpose:
To design and implement a sales strategy with focus on agencies and corporate sales that will ensure that the business achieves and exceeds its revenue targets.

Main Responsibilities:
• Design and implement strategies that grow revenue from agencies and corporates while decreasing debt through constant relationship management with the clients.
• Design work plans that exploit the market opportunities held by the agencies and corporate clients.
Track the section sales performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Carry out regular meetings with customers in order to develop good relations with the agencies and their corporate clients.
• Identify and develop concepts and initiatives that lead to business growth.
Carry out market intelligence to ascertain business budgets and how much is being spent on competition with a plan on how to tap into it.
• Carry out regular brands/agencies list reviews and discusses with the Commercial Manager on potential new agencies and corporates on various brands.
• Ensure sales contracts are in place with the appropriate agencies and corporates: identify their associates, follow up and resolves any complaints while maintaining constant communication with the Commercial Manager. Maintain close liaison with relevant departments and makes monthly sales and collection reports to the Commercial Manager.
• Ensure all deliverables in all MOUS, contracts & media schedules are upheld and communication agencies/corporate clients is timely.
• Coordinate activities with other Business Managers, Traffic Controller, Programme Controller and the Sales & Operations Supervisor to achieve teamwork in the department and enhance the cross-functional potential.
• Coordinate with external monitoring agencies and Traffic Controller to ensure all logs for all brands run on air have been properly provided for invoice delivery.
• Brainstorm and identify promotions that will boost the section revenue.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Academic: Bachelor’s degree in any business-related course or its equivalent.
• Professional: Postgraduate/Higher Diploma in Sales and Marketing.
• Experience: At least 5 years of relevant sales experience in an FMCG industry, as well as proven experience in meeting targets and managing people.
