Manager Public and Corporate Communication at Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited

Develop and manage the delivery of stakeholder engagement and communication strategies and initiatives that promote UETCL’s work, deliver engaging messages, help secure partnerships, enhance stakeholder relationships and high level of engagement and awareness of business activities.

Key Result Areas
1. Managing UETCL’s public relations (PR) team and overseeing all their activities
2. Development and successful delivery of stakeholder engagement plans in accordance with the overarching stakeholder engagement strategy
Manage stakeholder mapping and prepare communications to stakeholders and respond to stakeholder enquiries
4. Developing and implementing publicity strategies for the UETCL’s products and services, including a crisis management strategy
5. Developing and implementing UETCL’s publicity strategies for company events
6. Creating and managing a PR plan, including budgets, timelines, etc.
7. Analyzing all media coverage of the organization and drafting appropriate responses
Working with the social media team to create a content calendar
9. Organizing promotional events such as press tours and conferences
10. Representing the organization at press conferences, interviews, etc.

The desired person should have the following essential requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Information Technology, business marketing or related field from a recognized university
2. Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field from a recognized university is an added advantage
3. Professional certification in marketing or public relations shall be an added advantage
4. Should have at least five (5) years’ experience in Corporate Communications/Public relations in a reputable organisation.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
6. Superior customer relationship management skills
7. Proficiency in the use of word processing software tools
8. Good creative writing skills
9. An analytical mind and problem-solving skills
10. In-depth knowledge of industry best practices
11. Strong project management skills
12. Excellent attention to detail
