Job description

Our client, a Private Healthcare Hospital in Kampala – Uganda, seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and competent candidate for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

OVERALL, PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the overall performance of the company through managing the day-to-day operations of the hospital.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work closely with the Board in developing and driving the mission, long and short-term strategic plans for the organization.
2. Provide leadership and direction to the organization and ensure hospital mandates and policies are implemented fully and effectively in line with the strategic plan.
3. Ensure the hospital is well resourced to enable it to achieve the approved plans.
4. Ensure prudent management of resources for the achievement of the Hospital’s mandate and strategic objectives.
5. Oversee and supervise fiscal operations, including accounting, planning budgets, authorizing expenditures, establishing rates for services, and coordinating financial reporting.
6. Comply with regulations governing hospitals and the rules of accrediting bodies and represent the hospital in legal matters.
7. Foster a smoothly functioning, efficient organization through anticipating problems and the timely and effective resolution of disruption, while ensuring safety in all hospital operations.
8. Ensure the preparation of performance management reports as required, including annual reports and accounts.
9. Project a strong and positive corporate image, demonstrating integrity and a strong commitment to service provision, both within the hospital and externally.
10.Ensure effective collaboration with external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of a University Degree with relevant professional qualification preferably in Health Sciences.
• A Master’s degree in Business Administration would be an added advantage.
• Membership to relevant professional bodies.
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant work experience (post qualification), seven (7) years of which must be in senior management position(s).
