Job title: 2 Supervisors – Cane transport & Loading
Department: Agriculture
Overall purpose of the job.
To supervise the process of loading and transportation of harvested cane from the field blocks to the sugar factory in order to meet the sugar production requirements and the set targets.

Key Responsibilities
• Allocate tractors and cane loading machines, winches and press mud vehicles to drivers and operators during the assigned shift.
Maintain the vehicle shift register and closely monitor the performance of each of the vehicles deployed in the shift Supervise the effective and efficient loading of cane on trailers to avoid un necessary cane spillage on the road and the field.
• Ensure that cane loading operators carefully load cane without mud and other foreign materials,
• Coordinate with tractor yard maintenance supervisor to avail tractors and cane loading machines to be used during the assigned shift.

• Coordinate with the Muster Roll Clerk to mark the attendance of the drivers and operators in the assigned shift and reprimand those who are absent without legitimate reasons.
Carryout verification of incentives and overtime payments. Monitor and control the issuing of fuel to tractor drivers in the section.

Knowledge, qualifications & Experience Education:
National diploma in Agricultural mechanics, or mechanical engineering from a recognized institution.
Experience, Skills and Competences:
A minimum of two (2) years hands on experience in supervising drivers on shift. in-depth knowledge in mechanics, good analytical and quick fault detection skills, good supervisory skills, good communication and interpersonal skills.
Analytical Skills: A candidate for this position must be capable of gathering and interpreting raw information and data, documenting findings, and drawing appropriate recommendations. Interpersonal Skills: The candidate must be a helpful, calm and professional individual and demonstrate calmness during times of uncertainty.
