Mazima Community Development Initiatives Ltd (MCDI) is a not-for-profit organization, working for the poor, in the Jinja District (Eastern Uganda). Through an innovative and integral approach of community development and social business we are creating Ugandan ownership and self-reliance. For taking our work to a high-end level, we are seeking for qualified and self-driven applicants for the following position:
Position: Managing Director
Core competencies:
Marketing: convincing, selling and creativity,
Commercial business: business analysis and administration, facts and figures, driving business growth and maximizing growth
HR: overseeing staff performance, supervising staff’s proactivity and productivity, salaries, social benefits and taxes
Organizational: implementing strategies and policies of the board.
Key Job requirements:
• Fluency in English,
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Commerce,
• A proven track-record in a busy, medium/large commercial enterprise for a minimum of six (6) years, three (3) of which must have been at supervisory level,
• Commercial attitude and entrepreneurial spirit with a strong vision,
• Leadership capacities and having a proactive attitude,
• Willingness to work hard to accomplish tasks relating to the position. Strong affinity with the purpose of MCDI,
• Ability to speak Lusoga or Swahili will be an added advantage.
• Candidates are expected to cherish Christian values and have no criminal background.
Salary & benefits are subject to negotiation.
