Responsibilities:
• Support the team with developing a scoping study and alternative frameworks for the measurement of a resilience index at USAID.
• Ensure that the resilience study identifies methodologies and indicators for measuring the level of resilience of Ugandans to shocks and stresses.
• Support SoCha’s Technical Lead and two other team members in conducting literature research and organizing data for analysis.
• Contribute to the writing of the evidence synthesis report.
• Contribute and report on alternative measurement frameworks.
• Contribute to the development and preparation of a workshop to discuss measurement alternatives.
Qualifications:
• Extensive experience on resilience programming in Uganda.
• Extensive background and understanding of the Uganda Disaster Risk Reduction, food security, and nutrition programs and policies.
• Understanding of government data systems especially DHIS2 and Disaster Risk Management Office data.
• Strong English writing skills.
• Bachelor’s required, Masters or Ph.D. preferred.
• 10 years of resilience-related experience.
• Experience working on resilience-focused work with GoU, USAID or other donors preferred.
