Senior Dairy Inspectors x3 at Dairy Development Authority (DDA)

Reporting to Principal Dairy Inspector, the successful candidate duty station shall be DDA Regional Office and shall be required to perform the following duties;
• Implement government policies governing milk production, processing, marketing and consumption of milk and milk products.
• Participate in the development of strategies and interventions to strengthen dairy stakeholders’ organizations within the region.
• Conduct trainings that is aimed at increasing compliance to milk processing, value addition and marketing.
• Conduct regular inspections aimed at ensuring compliance to dairy standards and regulations.
• Carry out market surveillance to ensure that milk and milk products that are availed to consumers meet set dairy quality standards.
• Enforce dairy regulations to safe guard the public health and safety of the consumers.
• Support relevant actors in the region to enhance compliance to set dairy standards and regulations.
• Plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and report on milk quality and safety interventions in the region.
• Collect statistical data relating to quality and safety interventions and recommend registration of dairy businesses in the region.
• Supervise and Mentor the Dairy Inspectors.
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications and experience
• Honours degree in Dairy Science & Technology or Honours degree in Food Science and Technology or any other relevant Honours degree from a recognized University.
• Postgraduate qualification in a related field is a must
• Masters degree in related field is an added advantage.
• At least three (3) years of relevant working experience.
