Senior Assistant, Casework at International Justice Mission

Overview: As Sr. Assistant, Casework you will provide essential case tracking and data management to support caseworkers and evidence the efficacy of IJM casework.
Key Result Areas:
The success of this role is measured by the following KRAs:
• A case management framework is developed and followed, ensuring casework data is accessibly tracked and organized.
• Case management and tracking systems are efficient, understood and adhered to by all caseworkers.
• Case intake actions align with the purposes and goals of the Field Presence.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Policies and Procedures:
• Coordinate case intake and client screening based on established criteria.
• Evaluate and develop case intake and client screening strategies.

Training and Development:
• Conduct trainings for new and current staff on IJM’s case tracking and management systems.
• Research, Program Management and M&E:

• Assist with development and embed systems to track the collection, review and use of Casework monitoring data.
• Coordinate and participate in the collection, reporting and analysis of casework monitoring data.
• Compile, edit, and submit monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports produced by the office.

Documentation, Reporting & Data Management:
• Manage the case tracking management systems.
• Evaluate and develop case tracking and management strategies in partnerships.
• Ensure that the Casework team are accurately recording case related data on electronic case tracking management systems.
• Work alongside national, regional and global IJM teams to provide feedback and ensure consistency and roll out of new systems.
• Manage case pipeline and timeframes, identify inefficiencies, and make recommendations to Team Leaders on how to effectively process IJM cases.
• Supervisory:
• The Senior Casework Assistant reports to the Senior Manager, Fort Portal Projects.
• Education & Experience:
• Degree in law or other relevant field.
• Successful completion of LDC preferred.
• Two or more years of experience as a practicing attorney preferred.
• Two or more years of experience working with electronic databases or case tracking software preferred.
• Excellent critical thinking, legal analysis and oral and written advocacy skills.
• Fluency in English and Rutooro, with excellent writing and speaking in both.
• Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Driver’s License preferred.
