A fast-growing company that imports Interior Design Materials ranging from Cushions, Curtains among Others is looking for a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager to join our growing organization. Position: Finance Manager
Station: Kansanga -Kampala district
Reports to: General Manager
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Leads planning and forecasting activities with business partners to achieve business and company goals.
• Achieve a proper mix of equity and debt to minimize cost and maximize operational profit.
• Preparation of statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors to have a seamless review of the final accounts.
• Ensuring that tax compliance is adhered to, tax returns are filed on time and dealing with any tax queries, which may be raised by the tax authority.
• Advises management on portfolio of investments to make that maximize returns.
• Maintains an accurate filing and record keeping system for all financial statements and company documents.
• advises means to improve profitability.
• Ensures business processes, administration, and financial management.
• Assists management in making appropriate financial decisions.
• Analyzes revenue, expenses, cash flows, and balance sheets.
• Monitors financial details to ensure legal compliance.
• Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.
• Evaluate the financial performance of the organization and measure returns on investments.
• Understand and calculate the risks involved in the financial activities of the organization.
• Provide financial insight and analysis to drive the business performance of the organization.
• Align financial goals and objectives with the company’s goals and objectives.
Experience and Technical competence
• 5 -8 years of work experience as a Finance Manager (essential).
• Degree in finance/accounting or related MBA.ACCA/CPA membership. (essential)
• Portfolio theory and Capital asset pricing model.
• Capital budgeting decisions (payback period, NPV, IRR).
• Determination of cash flows for investments decisions.
• Financial and operating leverage.
• Financial statement analysis and interpretation.
• Financial planning & strategy and long-term financing.
• Principles of working capital management.
• Receivables management and factoring.
• Inventory management.
• Corporate governance and shareholder value.
• Income tax regulations and control (health checks).
• Integrated performance analysis and insights
• Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
• Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and other financial planning software.
• Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools such as SQL, Access, etc.
