METGE requires to recruit a Safeguarding (SG), and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Officer to implement the organisation’s policies in this area. Working with METGE staff and partner organisations the role will be to mainstream these activities and to set up delivery processes, monitoring and evaluation, and training. The role is to ensure that the programme does no harm to women, children, youths, and vulnerable adults, thereby limiting their exposure to the risk of discrimination, neglect and abuse. .
The successful candidate must have a degree or advanced training in psychology, sociology, anthropology, gender studies, or social work. A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in social services, working with vulnerable people and/or advocacy projects is required. Based in Mbale, Eastern Uganda the person will lead the delivery of this essential community transformation in the Districts of operation and will need good interpersonal skills, diplomacy and discretion.
