Post: Senior Internal Auditor
Location: Kampala, Uganda however can be mobilized to Lake Albert area, other construction sites or other cities as required. .

Primary function:
Responsible for Company audits to ensure compliance to the JOA and PSA. Identify risks within processes and assist Management & process owners develop action plans to improve the controls in the organization.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain a database and ensure compliance of all the Company policies, PSA and the JOA.
• Documenting and reviewing the internal controls in each of the Company’s business units, identifying weaknesses and recommending
• Improvements of internal controls for the weaknesses identified.
• Plan, execute and finalize the year end statutory audit within the agreed timelines and submit the financial report to the respective stakeholder i.e. URA, PAU etc.
• Plan for and assist with the Government audits to ensure smooth running of the audits, maximum recoverability of costs and timely responses to the audit issues raised i.e. Cost Recovery Audits, Tax audits, Customs audits etc.
• Participate in and coordinate the JV audits of Partners as per the agreed audit program within the agreed timelines as per JOA.
• Provide Tax support by reviewing invoices in the Company‘s Alfresco system, and preparing tax computation for the WHT and VAT return every month.
• Responsible for receiving and processing debit notes to and from Partners.
• Collaborate with Government Agencies to prepare a uniform chart of accounts and reporting formats for the Oil and Gas companies.
• Responsible for preparing Quarterly reports for the different arms of Government i.e. Bank of Uganda, Bureau of Statistics etc.
• Carry out financial evaluations of Company suppliers involved in the bids for the different projects/ services.
• Supervise the department’s document management of all accounting documents.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Taxation, insurance, Management or equivalent.
• Certificate Accountant (ACCA) or Certificate in Public Accountant of Uganda (ICPAU) is added advantage
• At least 8 years in major multi-national companies or audit firms ‘as Accountant or Auditor, including 5 years in Oil & gas

Knowledge:
• Extensive knowledge of Uganda international laws on economics, commerce, financing, accounting.
• Understanding of Oil & Gas E & P.
