A reputable Forestry and Timber Processing Company in East Africa Is wanting to engage me services at a suitably qualified and experienced individual at its East Ugandan operations to the me role of:
Sawmill Engineering Manager (SEM)
The SEM will provide overall leadership and management of the Company’s sawmilling operations and provide counsel on key decisions related to modern SAWMILL management along with oversight of the Vehicle and Plant Engineering Workshop.
As such the incumbent will be required to demonstrate a strong understanding of sawmiills, kilns, plant and diesel equipment as well as solid mechanical maintenance skill, keen on upholding safety standards and is cost conscious. Key Requirements;
• Suitable Sawmilling and Engineering Qualification relevant to the role.
• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience from a reputable organization in Africa including experience with modern timber drying kilns and boiler systems
• Experience in handling hydraulic machines and various engineering disciplines and procedures
• Experience in agro-processing or manufacturing industries will be advantageous
• Demonstrated leadership and proficiency in team building
• Excellent interpersonal and decision skills
