Junior Logistics Engineer at Q-sourcing Servtec

On behalf of our client, we are looking for competent and experienced Junior Logistics Engineer .

Responsibilities
• Conducting the regional and in country logistics and infrastructure studies and surveys, ports and freight forwarding and provided timely, accurate and precise information to update the Logistics philosophy.
• Preparation of Scope of Works (SOW), and initial technical Prequalification and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) evaluations of bidders during the call for tender process for project logistics and contract management.
• Planning and optimizing multi-leg (e.g. ocean land and airfreight) and multi-segment (e.g. stop-offs) shipments for Heavy lift and Out Of Gauge shipping and, freight modeling.
• Identification of different planning techniques including the functionality of transport management systems and load planning tools.
• Regional transport market assessment and analysis including equipment, port and airport operations as well as relevant restrictions and regulations.
• Evaluation of potential Logistics contractors through Technical prequalification to ensure compliance and performance during early stages of the project.
• Contribute to Budget preparation and Budget Forecast closure sessions.
• Implementation of the Logistics support Operations (LSO) business tools (Personnel Transport System (PTS), Tram, Cost control and KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and ensure Quality Control of project logistics activities.
• Drive strategic implementations from front-end through to execution stage and ensuring value for money as well as implementing logistics strategies that address HSE and Risk management with sustainable improvements.
• Drive a rapid improvement in functional standards across project logistics activities at operational level by setting up procedures and management reporting systems

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing/construction Logistics operations at supervisory level.
• In depth knowledge of international and Regional project Logistics, route surveys, integrated Logistics philosophy, Heavy lift and Out of Gauge shipping and transport, freight modelling.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment operations in Oil and Gas operations.
• Exhibit Multicultural & environmental awareness.
• Good understanding of international regional and Uganda Road Safety requirements and regulations such as; Road safety acts, East African Community traffic regulations, Uganda traffic regulations.
• Excellent Organization, adaptability and anticipation skills.
• God knowledge and experience in ERP systems including SAP and database management including MS access, project, excel
• Proficient in Microsoft office.
• Good command of English and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
