Finnish Refugee Council (FRC) is an International NGO promoting community development through adult education on literacy, language, business and livelihood related trainings among refugees and host community member since 1997 in Uganda as an operational partner to UNHCR and OPM. .
FRC in partnership with World Food Programme (WFP) is coordinating 12-month project to scale up Financial Literacy Training (FLT) in 11 refugee settlements: Adjumani, Impevi, Kiryandongo, Kyaka II, Kyangwali, Lobule, Nakivale, Oruchinga, Palorinya, Rhino Camp and Rwamwanja. The FLT training program aims to reach 141,010 refugee households receiving cash-based transfers (CBT) from WFP.
FRC is currently seeking for dynamic, qualified Ugandans to fill the following positions.
Reports To: Finance Officer
Main purpose:
Accounts Assistant prepares monthly bank, mobile money and cash transactions for book-keeping, assists in monthly income and expenditure statement preparation. She/he prepares project related financial transactions for payment, follows up and receives all accountability of advances from project staff, ensures that standard accounting procedures and FRC and WFP Finance guidelines and principles are adhered to.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Professional accounting qualification is an added advantage. At least 2 years’ relevant experience in a finance role at junior level.
